50's Knit Burgundy Cocktail Dress
This knit burgundy cocktail or party dress is from the 1950's with a slightly (19")dropped waist reminiscent of the 1920's Pannier style very full bottomed skirt of 60" in circumference at fullest.The bust measures 15"(30)flat and natural waist 12 1/2" (29),from center front to hem dress measures 41" long, boat neck opening is 11" across and from end of cap sleeve to the other 20" flat.The skirt has a matching red taffeta lining but no lining in the top... knit which feels like a cotton /wool blend is not itchy and has some give to it. Freshly dry cleaned..the label has been cut out. 24" long metal zipper and caped sleeves make this just the chic dress for early spring parties in the city!..very good vintage condition.
